JULY 2020 A Message for KARL Alumni and Friends
Fort Leavenworth - - Class XV Associates visit a classroom where students and international allies from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands plan a strategic exercise.
The Lewis and Clark Center, home of the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) provided for a unique insight into Army/military professional development and its history. Developing leadership is certainly a shared mission of CGSC at Fort Leavenworth and the KARL Program, which makes this seminar critical to situations in which we now find ourselves.
Even though we undoubtedly do not know how long any current crisis may be with us, we can say with certainty that it will pass. Will things look the same before whatever comes next? Likely not. We continue to work to achieve our mission and vision of KARL. The lessons of adaptability and strategic planning become vital tools in these extraordinary times.
Values. Integrity. Perseverance. These are three words that resonate with Kansans who resolve to lead.
Always, be #KARLSTRONG

Dale Carnegie Opportunity for KARL Alumni "Effective Communications & Human Relations"
We are excited to announce a leadership training option that will serve rural areas in Kansas. Dale Carnegie - Kansas Heartland is offering a public on-line live Dale Carnegie program. We think this will be a great option for leaders in rural Kansas who do not have easy access to attend a Dale Carnegie Course in Wichita or other metros. Until now, this had only been offered for larger companies wanting private courses.
To kick off this event, Dale Carnegie of the Heartland is offering KARL graduates and supporters the opportunity to participate with a $500 discount off the regular price of $1,795. The course is limited to 17 participants.
Live-on-line training has been a part of Dale Carnegie for over 10 years. Their live-on-line training events are facilitated and delivered on a training platform designed for in-the-moment coaching and personal interaction.
Dale Carnegie’s Effective Communications and Human Relations course is patterned off the in-person Dale Carnegie Course. It runs eight weeks with a three-hour session each week.
You can access this discount by using promo code: RURAL (must be Kansas resident to register)

KARL Fellows talk about impact... "Having the opportunity to be a participant of the KARL program is truly an extraordinary experience. I applied for the program with anticipation of growing as leader for the state of Kansas, my employer and my community. Two years later, I graduated with class XIV, taking with me an extensive network of leaders from around the state as well as an abundance of opportunities and experiences from across our grand state, nation and abroad. In addition to these benefits, a broadened knowledge of this vast industry we serve and a greater understanding of the challenges we face in rural America has made me a more effective advocate for agriculture. KARL has made me a better Kansan and will continue to pay dividends for my future and the communities I serve." Melissa Bergkamp, Class XIV Vice President of Sales, Harper Industries
